The FABERGÉ Collection at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

I finally got to see this magical collection! The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is extending the Fabergé exhibit until October 11 and 12. So if you haven’t seen this yet- hurry up and get there!

Obviously the Faberge Eggs are the main attraction- but the exquisite, meticulously crafted miniatures are superb as well. I particularly loved the tiny picture frames with photos of the royal family.

Faberge was the Tsar ‘ s personal family jeweler- and needless to say- every single piece is overwhelmingly ornate with either rubies or diamonds- and other precious stones as well.   The workmanship is incredible!

If you live history and are fascinated by this period in Russian history- this exhibit is a must.
