What I’d Wear if I Could Party…

I’m in a party mood, even if I still can’t in real life, here in Canada. So today I’m joining these ladies for an online Birthday Party! For guess who? Didn’t you hear- it’s Ada’s Birthday (from Elegance and Mommyhood)!

Here I am ready in all shades of pink mixed with orange.  Wanted to keep my look fun, bright, festive, warmly inviting and, casually chic.  Also, a fun side to the look with pants giving off a bit of sassiness with their slit on the side😉   I think this whole look is well representative of all that Ada’s about!  Happy Birthday my friend! Xx

So happy I get to party at least here in Blogland! I’m joining her party!!

Won’t you hop on over to the Beautiful Birthday Girl’s Blog and give her your good wishes!

Meanwhile…Not to break the mood here…but a note on why we’re still not allowed to party in real life here in Canada- for anyone interested, read on:

Not sure the news is telling it all as it really is…But here in Canada (well at least in Eastern Canada), we are still under curfew and no get-togethers are allowed. Restaurants are only pickup…and so on. Our second dose of the vaccine can only be taken after 4 months of the first shot. Yeah you read that right: 16 whole weeks to get a booster shot because our leader screwed that one up- I’m not mean- everyone knows that as fact. This from a country where we boast about free health care and willingly pay gazillions in taxes- where it’s not the death tolls that are in keeping with the curfews…it’s the lack of beds in debilitating hospitals, should we need the services (yet that’s where all of our hard earned money has been going for taxes). Now that you know- sorry for the rant- but at least you don’t have to wonder why we are the last on the planet to be so behind; while minute little countries, not even part of the G7, have the darn pandemic under control. Not Canadians. All borders are shut off to us. Do you blame anyone for not letting us in?

  1. I didn’t realize Canada was still that shut down! I am sorry! I am grateful we have really lived a fairly normal life here after the initial shut down. Granted we haven’t really done any large gathering but we have seen family, are able to go to restaurants and so forth. On another note, you look fantastic and I love the slit in those pants!

    1. Thank you Mireille:) As for us here- it’s not fun at all and I am losing patience!!

  2. ARG, I’m so frustrated with the federal government for not lining up multiple supplies of the vaccine earlier! Here on the west coast, we are just getting to our first round of vaccines (I’m booked for next Tuesday for my first shot), and it likely won’t be till late summer for the second. And Victoria has only 20-ish active cases…

Love your outfit here, Lucy! Those trousers are to die for! The colours are amazing. I think we have very similar styles. I can’t wait to dress up for parties again.

    1. Hey Sheila! Yes we really do have similar styles- I die for everything you wear!! And seriously, here in Canada- it’s absolutely unacceptable!!

  3. First, your outfit is gorgeous, Lucy! I love pink and orange together. I need to create such an outfit for myself.

I’m so sorry about the slow vaccine roll out in Canada. That is the one thing our government got right. (Although about 30% of people are refusing to get vaccinated. 🙄)

But as far as the medical system, we have had overrun hospitals too in various hotspots in the US.. It’s been freaking scary. When my husband had his motorcycle accident in March, he was in the hospital for 3 days. They had to keep him in the ER the entire time because there were no beds. No medical system was prepared for this shit show. And unlike Canada, anybody hospitalized here has left with huge medical bills, millions of dollars in some cases. I will take your medical system over ours any day.

    1. Oh Michelle you would look so good in pink and orange! And yes Covid threw us all out of gear- especially in hospitals! The only difference with our system is that it’s in pathetic- no room-not enough nurses or doctors and 15 hour waiting time to be seen in emergency- all year-round. People here are actually seriously thinking of going private if they can!

  4. WOW I am so sorry that rules are so tough and in a way strange there. Why do they need 16 weeks for a second dose of the vaccine?! Honestly their numbers are not so bad, they need to open up some things. SORRY!!

On a positive note you look RADIANT in Pink & Orange. In love with those pants. Only YOU can wear them so well!! Thank you so much for joining my 9th annual Blog Birthday Party and for virtually celebrating with me today. YESSS TO AMAZING BLOGGING FRIENDSHIPS!!

    1. YOu are right on all accounts! Super bad management!!! Spreading fear like crazy yet giving us no solutions! We want the vaccine and quick second dose!!! Thanks for your compliments bella xx

  5. Oh and one more thing I loved those first 2 paragraphs and what you write about me. So kind of you LUCY!

    Ti Voglio Bene! <3 Ada.

  6. Oh my goodness, Lucy, you look fabulous even in your ranting! Haha. I love this combination of bright colors and this silhouette is freaking amazing on you! We need to set up some chat time soon!

  7. I love these bright colours together, such a fun party outfit! And I hope you get to celebrate in person soon! 🙂

We are so behind here in Australia – hardly anyone is vaccinated. But at least we have no cases so things are open again and we can celebrate! it would just be good to have the vaccination (they are saying maybe not even this year…..).

Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup 🙂

    1. You are so lucky that there are no cases!!! I can’t even imagine that! Have a nice weekend my friend xx

  8. I didn’t realise you were still under curfew in Canada. The UK may be doing well with the vaccine rollout but that’s about the only thing that’s gone well – 127k dead! I’d swap our PM for yours in a heartbeat! I love your pink and orange outfit – the top is very Missoni! Thanks for joining in the #stylewithasmile link up!

    1. Yes it does have the Missoni vibe- it’s true (hadn’t even thought about that!). Thanks so much!! And I’m quite sure (since we do have the same fashion taste…) the only thing you’d love about my PM are his colourful and stylish socks he keeps presenting to the world LOL!!! xx

  9. I love these bright colours together, what a statement! I hope lockdown is lifted for you soon !it’s such good news you have the vaccine though – here although there are no cases and everything is open again they are saying that it will be late this year before they get any vaccines for us, and we probably won’t be able to leave the country until mid next year! So frustrating, no vaccines in sight!

Thank you for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkUp!

    1. Oh no! This whole situation is so terrible. On the upside, they are taking off the curfew for us as the end of the month!!
