Fabulous Friday’s Linkup Party: Quebec’s Holiday and Some Styling Inspo!

Like I mentioned before…Summer is all about holidays around here! Yesterday was a huge Quebec Holiday: St-John the Baptist- or as we say La St-Jean! Or, La Fete nationale! The weather was spectacular! This holiday also coincides with the end of school year and it always brings me back to the fun times when the kids were young and off the school schedule, ready to enjoy summer. Good times locked into my heart.

In honour of our Provincial holiday here’s a casual look: Blue of course was de rigueur!

It’s been a fun week of styling it up for all sorts of Instagram challenges as well. These are also precursors to my styling classes where the students have to come up with their own styling creations for assigned clients; while the design students muster up their collections for projects. All this, based on my recommendations and challenges! So the Insta challenges are incredibly fruitful to get all my juicy ideas flowing!

Here’s what I wore this week for both a Maxi challenge and a Wearing- sets challenge:

It’s also important to help implement the whole concept of sustainability, as these students are the future of fashion- so they need to get with the program- and let me tell you, they are totally on board. What a great generation of kids! Their imagination and creativity is limitless. You should see what they come with in the vintage and thrift category! They also loved the mix print in this look. Btw, have I ever mentioned that everyone should own a second skin top (or a few)- they’re super comfy and look amazing! Here’s this gem that I styled up for Second skin for the Trends in Your closet challenge:

This last look, I’ll only be posting tomorrow (Saturday) on Insta for the Chanel challenge. Look how I got inspired by the June Vogue magazine! How did I do?

What are you styling up these days and where are you getting your inspiration from?

Onto my FAVOURITE FASHION DIVA of last week’s Linkup Party: Leelo of Beauty by Miss L

Floral print midi summer dress, yellow Ipanema Aphrodite sandals,
How darling is she?!

And for my FAVOURITE READ of last week’s Linkup: by Penny of The Frugal Fashion Shopper, for her post: Ageing Well and Then Aging Not so Well

Before we get onto the Linkup Party…Have you checked out my previous post where I interview Sheila of Ephemera for my new Series: CONFESSIONS OF ANOTHER DIVA ? If you haven’t, please do! YOu can either listen to the Podcast (I’d love that!)- Or- just go ahead and read it in the post itself. Sheila is AMAZING!!

    1. Thank you Leelo! Oh challenge are the best hen you feel like …there’s nothing to wear! It gets you creative again:)

  5. Wow, I’m so impressed with your Chanel outfit – you’ve reproduced it almost exactly! I love it when a chi-chi brand comes up with something “new” that I already have in my closet! LOVE your cotton two-piece outfit (that textile looks African?), and your “second skin” light mesh top. I have a couple of those and love them for layering. Thank you again for the link, Lucy! I’ve sent all my friends to listen to/read our interview!

Thank you also for the link-up!

    1. Hey Sheila! That Chanel outfit was so fun to do- and I bet that between the two of us we can put together any designer look out there! I thrifted that 2 piece outfit, but it does seem African to me as well. I’m very drawn to this type of motif. Love layering with mesh tops too. Have a great rest of the week my friend xx
