Styling Challenges, Collabs & a DIY- Fabulous Friday’s Linkup!

It started out with Thanksgiving weekend and a fabulous meal that my husband cooked up. He’s a master at this holiday cooking. Everything was to perfection. The best part though? Being with all our kids and grandkids. Here’s me with my precious darling Angelina Rose,

My daughter is adamant on me not showing her face…But you can probably guess that she is absolutely beautiful- I promise you she really is!!

We celebrated on Saturday, since as the family is growing, we have to share dates and plan accordingly so that everyone gets to see everyone!

This year I did a picnic-kind of look, since initially we wanted to do it outside…but weather didn’t agree, so I brought the picnic look indoors! Here’s a short clip of our spread.

The weekend also had me styling up for the Show us Your Blazers challenge, hosted by Brenda the Chic City Girl.

Here I am wearing a gorgeous 80’s tweed blazer. I just love the combination of these colors together. And let’s face it, shoulder pads were and still are Da Bomb in my opinion!

And then the work week began with Stylish Monday’s collab- Shackets! You can check out all our looks HERE.

Tuesday had me working on a fun DIY! I adore sleeve cuffs- not only to jazz up an outfit but they also have a very practical use. I love to complete an outfit whose sleeves are not full length. I have so many tops with sleeves just below the elbow. If I love the top (but deplore the sleeve length), then cuffs are my go-to! So easy to make. Let me know if you try this.

Here’s a less than 20 sec reel on how-to:

#Wear it Wednesday was for styling all shades of purple! If you know me, then you know that this is my absolute favourite colour in all shades or hues- so what a treat for me! I styled up this gorgeous violet leather jacket with lilac booties, and flare print pants. I love this look so much! And the little pouch bag was inspired by Carrie’s look. Hers is a shiny baguette, but it’s all about the colour for me.

Sarah Jessica Parker's dress is pure Carrie Bradshaw & wait 'til you see her bag | HELLO!

I thrifted mine a few weeks back. What do you think?

I also posted my purple look for saturated colours in the #Trends in Your Closet challenge.

This one is a seasonal challenge hosted by Anna of Annazzon and Norbyah of Imanorbyah. It’s one of my favourite challenges as it entices me to search my closet for trends that are already in there. For this challenge, I also styled up, on Thursday, some biker shorts for transitioning into fall. I’ve worn these shorts so many ways, with so many pieces, in all different seasons:

And Friday’s look is a Cabin Core look, and Blazers! This is my all-time favourite suede blazer I got in Greece eons ago- it’ll always be good. Paired wth some cowboy boots and I got myself sort of a chic cabin look (I mean, I’m really not the camp-out-in-a-tent, type of girl…I’d love to be, but I really can’t!) But with the velvet booties it takes it up another notch.

Which boot style do you prefer?

And that concludes this week’s styling gigs! Be sure to tune in on Monday for my post collaboration with the Thrifty Six! We will be styling: VELVET!

  1. What a bunch of fun outfits, Lucy! I love the blue velvet booties, but I was completely agog as I had those same blue lacy tights for years – I was so sad when they blew a giant hole.

Love your cowboy boots! I agree: shoulder pads are da bomb!

FYI, my work schedule has increased (a good thing), but it comes at a sacrifice: I won’t be joining link-ups (I get very little traffic from them). I do get your posts, though, so I’ll be visiting/commenting when I can.

    1. Oh Sheila I don’t want to lose you! But I totally understand…I’m pretty heavy into work too these days. And that means I can’t always read all the posts I want to or comment for that matter. But don’t be a stranger!! I’ll be hopping over your place too regularly xx

  2. You do color SO well, Lucy! I always love how you style lime green but your purple outfit is to die for! The “cabin” look is super cool with those blue suede booties! The picnic idea for Thanksgiving is so cute–great inspiration!

    xx Darlene

    1. Thanks Darlene! I love colour so much and purple is my favourite colour, so it’s so easy for me to style that up! xx

  3. Gah, I love all the style challenges you participate in! You always look so fabulous, my friend. I love all the prints and lux fabrics in this round up of your outfits! Thank you so very much for the feature! That made my day!
