FASHIONABLE FRIDAY- ‘The Weekend Look’

It’s not only school kids who feel the excitement when Friday rolls around, knowing that the weekend is almost here. The older I get the more I feel that bubby sense of anticipation too! As if something really exciting is gonna happen. Nine out of ten, I’m doing the same stuff I do every other weekend- so what is all the fuss about? Freedom to do what I want, when I want, must be part of it. Same goes with my styling! So let me take you through my process…

Regardless of whether I’m cocooning at home or out and about, I let the weekend unleash my I wear what I wear, and I don’t care’ type of mood! And that could mean choosing anything from sparkle, to curated, to loungewear…Freedom! I usually start by choosing one piece I really feel like wearing and I go from there. So, for this weekend look it began with this amazing D&G pair of low-rise, pre-loved jeans, gifted to me by my Bestie, Sandra. The best part is the patent leather strip that runs down the side of the leg.

Jeans on, I immediately knew I wanted to style them up with some grundge/granny mid-calf booties. And then the colourful mish-mash print, Frida top gave me all the artsy underground feel I was going for- super 90’s! A patent black belt is always a good idea (collect these in all the colours if you can!). Grundge also needs the juxtaposition of a great bejeweled necklace as well, don’t ya think? I put on a light animal print spring coat and was good to go! And how about adding a little purple satin purse- I never wait for soirees to wear these!! Giving me all the “And just like that…” purple baguette vibes!

Here’s the layout of my ‘fit:

Here’s my look for this gorgeous sunny Montreal day!

Out the door- and ready to go. The weekend’s here!!

  1. Lucy, this is such a fun weekend outfit! I would totally stop you and compliment you if I passed by you in public! I love how Frida’s face peeks out underneath your awesome jacket when you button the top! And the mid-calf boots are spot on for his look.

    1. Thank Shelbee! That’s precisely why I didn’t button the whole jacket, I wanted Frida’s face to show. And I do love these mic-calfs sooo! xx
