FASHIONABLE FRIDAY: What to Wear to a Chic Brunch Celebration

There are so many variations for this theme! Seasons play an important role as to how you’ll be styling up your ‘out to brunch’ look. Spring and Summer get the most votes for wanting to get out there and brunch with family or friends. Where you’ll be eating will also determine the look you’re going for. Trendy and chic terraces are super popular- as are hotel restos. And when you get a combination that holds all of these, like The Marcus Restaurant and Terrace in the Four Season’s Hotel, in Montreal– you just know you’ll wanna get dressed up!

That’s where all my girls and I headed for last Saturday! We celebrated our Bride-to-be at an “all-the- girls- in- the- family” brunch. And- what better place than brunching with a view of downtown Montreal.

And look at us- scoring the best table in the house! Here I am with my 4 daughters, my daughter-in-law, my Mother-in- law, and my precious granddaughter.

Let’s talk outfits. When dressing up for a chic summer on the town brunch, I usually love a light, fresh dress that can either be dressed up or down, depending on the footwear. This beige and white tier-ruffled dress was on point. I felt fresh, current and super comfy in this loose, but clean shaped attire. I paired it with black summer suede sandals I got in Greece a few summers back. The day was spectacular, and it called for a stroll in busy Montreal, right after. The block-heeled platform made it perfect for my walk through the city.

The girls looked gorgeous in all their outfits- suited to their moods and personalities:

Here’s a close up of my youngest’s attire, where midriff tops can still be worn looking chic if paired with a Missoni knit skirt- elevating the look to another level.

Such a cutie- pie!

My eldest styled up the cutest Maska maxi dress- which I am just dying to borrow! She wore it with gold Prada espadrilles (see photo of her in the pretty flats- above, farthest left. Love this look!

She’s gorgeous- and I’m not bias.

Did not get any photo close-ups of my other beautiful girls for you to see their outfits in full- next time!

And about accessories. My daughter said the little oval Lennon sunglasses gave me a bit of a rock star look LOL! My little envelope-straw purse just kept the look feeling summery and light.

But I think what completed the outfit was my precious Chanel faux-pearl, long necklace. I paired it with a shorter CC and pearl, to give it that neck party feel…Tell me you’re a Chanel Girl without telling me you’re a Chanel Girl.

Here’s a quick clip I put together of me walking and posing in beautiful (and always in construction), downtown Montreal. Enjoy!

We were long overdue for this fun day together- and vowed to make this a tradition in May. Stay tuned for next week for yet another celebration and fashion capsule (told ya the month of May is all for celebrating around here!).

  3. Hi, Lucy – It’s awesome to see all your beautiful girls! Your dress looks wonderful over the table. My style for brunch is different each time, as I love to create new outfits 😉 But my main idea is to wear something that looks good above the table, including color and statement rings. Thanks for sharing your beautiful personal world – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog
