Hey everybody it’s been awhile! Happy to be back hosting the linkup! I thought I’d kick off this new January with the…
Zodiac sign of the month: CAPRICORN!
Capricorn Ladies are it- they don’t have to prove it to anyone. This girl is an Alpha babe and she’s got it all under control. Same goes for her styling- she’s got her look nailed solid. You can bet Capricorn has got a closet to envy- or is certainly working on getting one that’s got her stamp of approval. One thing is for sure, no matter the size of her closet- everything is functionally organized (think: work clothes, party clothes, loungewear…you get the picture). As for her style; depending on ‘where-what-when’, Capricorn will dazzle and emanate a sense of bold confidence and charm. They own it.
Here are a few Capricorn ladies who mean business- and it’s written all over their style. Magnets.
Diane Keaton lives with her daughter and son in Los Angeles.
Alright! So let’s see if I can pull this one off. Gonna muster all my self confidence and own it- here goes Capricorn Babes- I want some of this too!
That was fun!
And now it’s time for our Fabulous Friday’s LINK UP Party- Please Join!!

“Chic is no longer synonymous with elegance…The new fashion is unconstrained, bold, solid and realist.” By….
I’ll reveal the author a bit later- and you’ll understand why. But at face value, how relevant is this quote?
All is in the word ‘elegance’. If elegance is a behaviour, reflecting grace, poise and so on- than I think you the statement is false- because you can’t be chic without elegance! Now- if elegance refers to the quality and allure of the clothing you are wearing then I agree: you don’t need elegance to be chic!
For purposes of this quote, I’m pretty sure fashion wanted to rid itself of clothing that were both stuffy, restrictive and referring to class status. BECAUSE the quote was written by Vogue pre -WW2!! ” Chic is no longer synonymous with elegance…The new fashion is unconstrained, bold, solid and realist.” By Vogue 1936
So back then, there was a need to break away from the stuffiness and class distinctions. Fashion was going through so many cultural changes- and – it was also the upcoming of Hollywood.
Today, we can certainly be chic without any stuffiness or class distinctions. You can be chic in a tee-shirt and jeans- style is everything. And that’s what’s key- it’s all about style over fashion. As for elegance- it’s all in the style, poise and mannerism. That my Darlings, never goes out of style!
In today’s LOTD- I find this cute loungewear look quite chic, bold, unconstrained and realistic- just like the quote! Velvet yoga pants and this divine Bellelily Tee Shirt! I love Blondie! It definitely is all about chic style! 😊

I can’t believe this will be the last Fabulous Friday Linkup Party for this year- but I’ll be back in January Absolutely! It’s been quite busy around here. I’m now done with final corrections -and my students did great! I’m so proud of them considering these crazy times…motivation is not always there- so Kudos to them!
Meanwhile I’ve been styling up quite a few looks and have participated in a few fun challenges this week! I’m doing #12days of sequins with @sabrinasikora…so here are my looks so far:
OMG I adore Gucci and all the funkiest of looks- so I had a blast dressing up here:)
Cannot get enough of GUCCI!!!
And then…I treated myself to this beauty of a necklace!!! It’s designed by Katherine Karambelas– all created by hand, in Italy, by top artisans/jewelers. To. Die. For. Katherine Karambelas is a Montreal Designer. Her one-of-a-kind- original collections are sold worldwide. Watch these 2 short video clips and tell me this is not absolutely exquisite!!

I am so very ready for the weekend. The beginning of the week started out with me needing so much sleep time and rest! I don’t know why I’ve been feeling so drained these days. But there’s nothing like a cute little styling up won’t help cure. Here I am with this colorful little dress and booties bright. Styling up a cute outfit helps improve your mood- and that’s a fact (remember my Dopamine Dressing post?). Much needed this week was color, patterns and more color (even when styling black).
And then Wednesday came along. Don’t you love Wednesdays? So here is a bit of sparkle- which you know I adore. Remember how I told you I refuse to call anything loungewear anymore? Well, here’s my fancy laid back- at home- look; shimmer, sparkle and all! Perfect diversion to reality: Did you know Montreal had an emergency code alert buzzing through all our phones and Tv’s? Yes- you heard that right. An Alert to remind us of the accrued policing and fines for anyone daring to get together for Christmas. And, that my friends, warranted a threat alert…Ok…So this is where we’re at. Moving along! This picker-upper could not have come at a better time!
I wore this for # Wearitwednesday You can check out my Insta here with all the details, and the other fabulous ladies with whom I join every other Wednesday:)
Even though I’m doing my Holiday contract work for Chanel ( Thursday to Saturday), I still get that weekend vibe. I have to admit that going in goggled up and masked isn’t the easiest thing…but I’m getting used to it. But after taking this Before and After Shift pics…wow- I look drained (must be the lack of oxygen behind that mask lollll! What do you think??
Left: Just about to start my shift. Right: Just about to close. From fresh to drained!
So now- I’m obviously ready for the Partyyyy! It’s time for FABULOUS FRIDAY’S LINKUP!!

Nearing the end of a dreary, hectic, panicky year…Are we all, still in a casual laid back styling mood? Really? I honestly don’t think so. It’s true that we can’t attend any grand events or celebrations like we used to, that’s for sure; but this confinement is feeling pretty much like a sort of modern times war. Crazy, scary, somber, dangerous and lonely times…
Fashion moves with the times and is a direct representation of what we’re living. For me, I don’t want that to be slouchy indoor dressing forever. Enough already: I’m banning the word ‘lounge’ from my vocab! Delete.
Here’s a bit of history: After WW2 (ok I’ll be quick- don’t wanna bore you here- but the history of fashion teacher in me just can’t help it!)- as I was saying…After the war and even during the last bit of it- women longed for a change! They didn’t want the drab clothing and poverty looks they were forced into by war.
Imagine that women went as far as drawing up their legs because they couldn’t find or afford decorative lacey stockings! I’m not making this up:
And- right out of that war, along came Dior with his New Look- back to the fancy and to hope and dreaming again!
A dress for peace time!
I say that’s what we’re all feeling inside- a longing for glamour, and over-the top. Don’t you feel like dressing up? Even if it’s gonna be comfortable and casual- please- oh please- make it funky, glamourous and a bit on the spicy!! Are you on board?
Enough with the drab- and please LOSE THE SLIPPERS!!
I was excited to style up this gorgeous 2 piece ensemble by Eva Varro because casual (when you’re going nowhere) can feel and look as cool and glam as can be when you’re wearing something this beautiful. I am loving the black with its touch of animal print that adds all the spice I need. Ladies- you need this outfit. Ultimate pick-me-upper:)
#Confessionoftheday: 2020 is on its way out – and I can’t wait. But in the meantime, I’m transitioning out of the loungewear and back into the stuff I actually want to strut in. After all, the festive season is upon us, let’s spice it up!

Remember that jingle?! Honestly it’s been awhile since I’ve worn mine. Dresses, pants, jumpsuits, shorts, tunics…all these take precedence over skirts in my styling. I just noticed that this past week.
How stylish is she!! I love all the combinations she styled up- she looks amazing!
Not only are skirts versatile with their multiple personalities, but most of them Never go out of style. Don’t believe me? Pick any from your own closet and pair it with a trendy top or jacket and voila- it works!
Here’s what I styled up these past 7 days:
DAY 1 (you’ve seen this one as a preview!)
Remember this beautiful Eva Varro one?!
DAY 2 (And this too was a sneak peak!)
Oh Delicious Cranberry or Burgundy- Whatever!
DAY 3
My friend Thriftyniftyoverfifty on Instagram designs these! She sews on brilliant tie designs!
DAY 4
This one was definitely my favourite skirt styling of the week. I love everything about this: colours; high boots, patterned mini skirt; sleeves!!!
DAY 5
This one had all the makings of a sweeter Cruella…suiting the creepy vibes! There’s nothing I love more than a silky skirt with chunky boots.
DAY 6
HAHA and this one which everyone thought it looked Red on Instagram!! (I’m terrible at editing!!) I loved wearing this very old chiffon summer skirt! Paired with this Joseph Ribkoff jacket (that I completely forgot I had)- made the fall transition so perfect! I’m in love with this skirt again. See what I said about skirts never going out of style?!!
DAY 7 (Last Day…oh nooooo!)
This groovy skirt is gonna have a few more dates lined up and I will make sure of that! How cute is it with this adorable faux fur little bag!! Loving that the cowboy boots dress it down to such a comfy look for the season. How do you like it?
And on a last note about why I think styling challenges are super important…Watch here:
So that’s it my Lovies! Which skirt do you prefer? And…Will you be styling up your skirts soon?

Is it me or did this week also just fly by? It could also be that I’ve had 3 Scorpio birthdays this week…one day after the other- YIKES!! We’ll be cutting cake this weekend. Meanwhile, I’ve been styling up a storm with some great challenges I’ve been part of.
Here’s what I wore for the #wearitwednesday challenge I’m part of; Burgundy or Cranberry was the theme. I still can’t tell those two colours apart. Can you?
I’m part of the Wear it Wednesday Group (every other Wednesday) with these lovely ladies:
I’ve also styled an adorable leatherette Eva Varro skirt this week. I wore it as part of Gail, of Is This Mutton‘ s #7DaySkirtChallenge. (Will be posting a full review of the skirts I wore all week, and do a Linkup with Gail next Tuesday on this!!) But here’s a teaser to what you’ll be seeing in next week’s post…The week kicks off with this adorable Eva Varro skirt:
This skirt is soft, comfy and goes with everything- I’m totally in love!!
And so thankful to have been featured by Oh My Heartsie Girl and by Gail ofIs This Mutton, and also by Michelle of My Bijou Life Online– for my hodgepodge print mixing outfit! I love mixing prints- and it makes me so happy when others appreciate my styling (not everyone does- I’ll leave it at that!) It’s just that this kind of styling just makes me so happy- don’t know what it is!
I’ve actually never been to one and am dying to!! Sounds like so much fun- and you should see the prep behind it all! This is a fancy fun and glam event. I loved this post!
Now Lovies… Are you ready for THE LINKUP PARTY?!!! Please come and join the party by LINKING UP!!! AND- Please SPREAD THE WORD! The more the merrier:))

I’m so thrilled with this blogger collaboration that’s coming to you every 3rd Monday of the month with a fun thrifted or vintage theme!
This month’s theme is PLAID! I have to admit I do have a few pieces of plaid in my beloved closet…but I honestly don’t style them up enough! I don’t know why…maybe squares are not the first things I’m attracted to? Well that’s gonna change! From now on, amma style me up some good loving hodgepodge- you just wait and see!
“The Thrifty Six: “Check” Out Our Preloved Styles in Heritage Prints”
This vintage plaid dress has been hanging quietly for too long. I mean just look at her personality- I just had to take her out for a spin! She’s also super versatile, in that I love styling her up as a coat too! Everything about this (except the reversible Gucci belt) has either been thrifted or bought ages ago (some even decades!).
But that’s not all! This dress not only fits me way better than back in the 80’s (scrawny thing with the hugest shoulder pads thinking I was so cool lol!)- It also doubles as a coat!! OMG I love it this way even more! Not sure if I prefer the patent boots with it or the red cowboys…Your thoughts?
Please visit all my lovely friends to see more of their gorgeous outfits and to get to know them better!
“I found this dress in a charity shop recently for less than £5. Blue and brown is a very on trend colour combination for this season, although that isn’t why I bought it. I love to wear all types of check patterns in Autumn and Winter, and this dress is great for layering over a thin roll neck sweater and tights. It has pockets too…happy days!”
“If I were home right now, I would’ve had plenty of thrifted plaid/check/houndstooth pieces to choose from. But unfortunately, I’m away at college with only 17% of my wardrobe (gasp!), which meant I had to get creative for this month’s collaboration. I made a quick stop by a local thrift store and was largely unsuccessful, so I decided to try out a thrifted man’s flannel instead for the sake of this blog post. I decided it would be fun to turn it into a lil’ style challenge to see if I could make a huge male shirt flattering… How did I do??”
“The traditional to the avant-guard…The Thrifty Six are showcasing Heritage prints this month and here I bring you Royal Stuart Tartan – Highland Heritage in its purest form! It can be traditional or somewhat avant-garde. I go both ways, buttoned-up Victoriana to raw Punk Rock; reminiscent of Vivienne Westwood back in the anarchic 1970’s…I bought the skirt and waistcoat separately (on eBay), they’re from two different brands but the fabric is identical in every way so they make a perfect suit. They’re both vintage and the waistcoat has a very interesting brand label. It says… ‘Susan Barry – the clothes that men admire’ I’m really not kidding – HOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED!!!!”
“When I heard that the theme for this month’s collaboration would be check, I thought: ‘Oh boy, have to search for something checked online!’ But instead I searched my closet and there came out my old checked tweed skirt. The funny story about the skirt is that I had bought this one years and years ago in the shop where I used to work. I gave it away at one point and discovered it two years ago on the preloved online shop. And bought it again! Just love the tweed and Chanel-esque feel. Especially with all the pearls!”
“When Emma announced the checkered theme for this month, I used it as an excuse to go thrift shopping. I definitely have plaid and checked preloved items in my wardrobe, but I don’t venture out much these days so it was the perfect excuse. I found this adorable black and white gingham dress (NWT) and these camouflage joggers (NWT) during that trip. I had no intention of wearing them together until I saw them lying in my cart next to each other. It was a match made in print mixing heaven! I added this preloved velvet off the shoulder sweatshirt because the dress is sleeveless and it’s getting cold around here. My furry clutch is also preloved (Poshmark). And the tie in my hair is the belt from the dress. We headed off to the park to capture some of the beautiful fall foliage in my photos.”
We will be back next month with another pre loved theme!
Is everyone weekend-ready? It’s going to be Thanksgiving weekend for us here in Canada. But this year will be so different. This pandemic has got us almost on lockdown- well not really, but it sure feels like it since we aren’t allowed anyone in our homes except for those living with us. What are we gonna do?? My husband says he’s still cooking that turkey and I guess the kids will have to do the ‘pick- up- at- Mom & Dad’s- curb’ thing!
So what have I been styling up since last Friday? Well, last Saturday had me posting thesefabulous leopard-hemmed jeansby Joseph Ribkoff from 1ereavenue.com. I am crazy about the fit! And you all know how hard it is for me to style and wear jeans if the fit isn’t perfect and comfy. But just look at these!!
And this week I also styled up this gorgeousness of a dress by Eva Varro – LA Designer. I mean can you believe the motif and colours in this beauty?!! I’ll be styling up more of the Eva Varro Collection and posting it for you to see. It’s mind-blowingly stunning!!
And of course more styling challenges! This one was on Instagram for #trendsinyourcloset by @imanorbyah and @annazzon. I styled up a mix of Leather, vests, and mixing prints.
And my favourite challenge always has to be by @affectionatelyaudreyfor Intimates worn outside! And it was a double- whammy since Anna and Norbyah both had this in their challenge as well! So it worked out perfectly. Loved wearing my nighty-wear out!
I always feel honoured and so blessed to be part of this fabulous community. I love what we all contribute to this platform- but even more than that, I love what you fabulous blogger ladies are all about!!
I‘m crazy about these boots and this whole look!!Isn’t she just adorable!!!
And- My Favourite Linkup Read of the Week was by: Alison of Midlife and Beyond for her post Turning Sixty – No Big Deal! Such a fascinating read that brought me down my own memory lane as well. Such an interesting and fun read that defies ageism and its stereotypes! Loved this!
Now Lovies… Are you ready for THE LINKUP PARTY?!!! Please come and join the party by LINKING UP!!! AND- Please SPREAD THE WORD! The more the merrier:))

Fall is here and it’s time to take a look at what’s trending in the Runways! The fun part of this is not so we can just dream about fashion that we can’t wear! We want to try out styling the trends for ourselves; whether new, or not so new. Even better: Let’s style up with clothes that we already own- straight from our closets!
So, instead of listing the non-ending trends out there (depending which designers you love and follow), I thought I might just pick out the trends that I’m lovingmost. That kind of narrows things down- and- for what that means in terms of styling…it will be so much easier and faster to put looks together!
So here we go: My Favourite Trends for Fall 2020!
Plaid! Let me just start with a print that I’m just dying to style up! Planning to mix plaid with other prints and looking forward to an eclectic look- OH the possibilities!!
2. Faux fur AND Faux Fur Trimmings! Is it just me who finds this whole look completely luxurious- I mean even with the most casual of clothes! Really loving faux fur – I do collect pieces so I have coats, vests and jackets…I’ve already shared a few look s on my blog and Insta. Planning to do more of this styling for sure!
3. Black is back! Ok- you all know me to be a huge print and colour fan…but I cannot pass up a fantastic black look- ever. Make it as chic as possible please- coz that’s the only way this Diva loves her black.
4. Fringe!! Give me all the fringe- because I love a good swaying movement! Don’t you feel like there’s nothing better than having an extension of yourself leaving a flowy trail…just like a soft breeze. Fringe is probably the coolest way to accessorize even the plainest of garments. So happy I have plenty in my closet.
Know what I mean? Bottega Veneta has got this covered A+
5. Intimate Apparel! Wearing your intimates out? Why not! Tastefully done it can be divine! I just finished styling an intimates look for a challenge (show you that on Friday for my week’s recap). So feminine!
6. Sequins and all that blings! Honestly though, does this ever go out of style (who would want that!)? Sequin illuminates the skin and brings out such beauty and light- Give me sequin all year round!
7. Florals!! And this year noone is doing it better than Naeem Khan- absolutely breathtaking!!
So there you have it!
NOTE: Expect this fashionista to be styling up ALL OF THESE TRENDS this Fall. YES- I promise you, and I’ll be showcasing them ALL in a later post 🙂 If you’d like to join me and want to dress in any of these trends, please Tag me and I’ll put you in my Insta stories!
I put up a Video on Youtube as well as Insta stories- but here it is also. It shows what I’ll be styling up!
First Runway Trend of the Season: Florals on Black!
So for this very first look, I’m starting off with Florals! How fun is this look with these funky boots?! (PS: Can you believe I got these brand new- tags on- booties from my local thrift store??)!!
THEN…just for the fun of it and because I can never resist a transformation…I added slip-on sleeves!!
And after the sleeve addition…THIS is what it looks like!
I love this blogging community so much! And I know how much goes into writing every single post, every single week. It’s a dedication thing. And- we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t love it.
