Nearing the end of a dreary, hectic, panicky year…Are we all, still in a casual laid back styling mood? Really? I honestly don’t think so. It’s true that we can’t attend any grand events or celebrations like we used to, that’s for sure; but this confinement is feeling pretty much like a sort of modern times war. Crazy, scary, somber, dangerous and lonely times…
Fashion moves with the times and is a direct representation of what we’re living. For me, I don’t want that to be slouchy indoor dressing forever. Enough already: I’m banning the word ‘lounge’ from my vocab! Delete.
Here’s a bit of history: After WW2 (ok I’ll be quick- don’t wanna bore you here- but the history of fashion teacher in me just can’t help it!)- as I was saying…After the war and even during the last bit of it- women longed for a change! They didn’t want the drab clothing and poverty looks they were forced into by war.
Imagine that women went as far as drawing up their legs because they couldn’t find or afford decorative lacey stockings! I’m not making this up:
And- right out of that war, along came Dior with his New Look- back to the fancy and to hope and dreaming again!
A dress for peace time!
I say that’s what we’re all feeling inside- a longing for glamour, and over-the top. Don’t you feel like dressing up? Even if it’s gonna be comfortable and casual- please- oh please- make it funky, glamourous and a bit on the spicy!! Are you on board?
Enough with the drab- and please LOSE THE SLIPPERS!!
I was excited to style up this gorgeous 2 piece ensemble by Eva Varro because casual (when you’re going nowhere) can feel and look as cool and glam as can be when you’re wearing something this beautiful. I am loving the black with its touch of animal print that adds all the spice I need. Ladies- you need this outfit. Ultimate pick-me-upper:)
#Confessionoftheday: 2020 is on its way out – and I can’t wait. But in the meantime, I’m transitioning out of the loungewear and back into the stuff I actually want to strut in. After all, the festive season is upon us, let’s spice it up!

I am! By now you all know how much I love my scarves (I go around building hanging units just for these babies of mine!)- so you know I’m right in my element when the cool weather comes around.
This fall I’m styling up Bellelily scarves and loving how I’m incorporating them in several of my looks- I’ve even transformed one altogether! These scarves are even better than what they look like online. I love the quality and softness, as well as the vibrance of the colors. See here what I mean:
The first thing that I noted about these scarves (besides the beautiful warm colors) is the quality. I love that they use 100% wool- making them warm and practical for Canadian winters- but they’re also super soft!
Another important point for me is size. In my opinion, when it comes to warm scarves; the bigger the better. And Bellelily is right on point when it comes to this! That’s what I find so fun about these scarves, because of their softness and how large they are, it makes them so easily transformable into outfits and looks. So many possibilities. They’re way more than just a simple accessory.
Winter isn’t even here and I’ve already styled these lovelies more than some of the tops I own! Imagine what I’ll do when winter coat season comes around. I’ll be wrapping myself up in chic ways; over the coat completely- around my neck- and as a hoodie as well. Winter? Bring it on!

Mystery, mystery, mystery is what this fabulous woman is all about. You can’t really tell what’s going on in her mind- and when it comes to her wardrobe, there always seems to be a touch of drama without revealing it all. This lady is classy, sexy, chic or vampy all in one. She doesn’t really want you to know what she’s all about. Intrigue is the key word here!
So, let’s look at some Scorpio styling babes here and see what emanates from their style. Is there really mystery? I think so!
Ellen Pompeo is all that and more…
Kendall Jenner…you never know what she’s gonna wear. Anne Hathaway…just when you thought you had her figured out. Chloe Sevigny is her own woman. Period.
LOS ANGELES, CA – NOVEMBER 01: Julia Roberts is seen at ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ on November 01, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by RB/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images)
Aishwarya Rai- pure mystical intensity. Ciara’s intense beauty- nothing banal about her styling and presence. Julia Roberts does not go by unnoticed, even when she’s styling this effortlessly.
Goldie Hawn- always in taste and absolutely gorgeous. She’s timeless and always on point- deliciously chic! And as for Ivanka, this gorgeous lady is in control, poised and never a stylish faux pas. Mystery and beauty is what every Scorpio woman emanates.
If you want to add a little spice and mystery to your styling, why don’t you step it up to a Scorpio girl’s standards…and keep’em wondering. Remember: Intense.
So when I tried to think of something to style up in Scorpio taste- I looked no further than to this gorgeous- chic and mysteriously sexyEVA VARRO black sultry flower print head-turner. This dress hugs all my curves, leaving much to the imagination.
In this Eva Varro Long Sleeve Chinese dress, I felt gorgeous, powerful, confident and completely in control. Scorpio intensity with all the mystery- am I right?
Here’s me trying to style it up Scorpio Style…Did I nail it?
And here’s a tiny clip of me styling it up- Watch:
Are you a Scorpio? Would you dress as one?
Stay tuned next month for Exhibit: SAGGITARIUS party gal!

Welcome to The Thrifty Six. We are a group of international fashion influencers who meet once a month in our little space on the internet to share our thrifty outfits. On the third Monday of every month, we will all share an outfit based on a theme that features preloved wardrobe pieces. Shopping and reselling preloved clothing is so much better for the environment and you can find some of the best fashions in thrift or charity shops. The Thrifty Six are here to inspire you to shop second hand!
For our theme this time we chose pre-loved “Sparkle”
Well you all know, sparkly is actually something I practically wanna wear on a daily basis- so imagine how thrilled I am for this month’s theme! As a matter of fact this is almost a problem for me…what do I choose?! (I have TOO MUCH sparkly stuff- and I love it all equally lol!! )
So…Without further ..!
For this challenge, I’ve chosen a sequin bustier. Why? Sequin is soo good for the morale- it brings glow to everything you wear- and it makes you smile. Second, a bustier is great over almost anything: a top, a dress, a blouse, a turtleneck, a jumpsuit- find me something it can’t enhance! I honestly think that every woman should have at least one bustier in her closet- at the very least! And if it’s going to be just one- then make sure it’s a sequin one.
What brought me to choose this black sequin little gem of a bustier? Well, I did promise my fashionistas who follow me for tips and trends- that sequin is on all the runways for fall and winter, and that I’d style that up for you- so what better time than now! And the best part? Everything I’ve styled up here today has been thrifted: from the necklace all the way down to the boots. How cool is that for gorgeous finds??
So, I have this darling, colorful Dimora dress that I absolutely love, but on its own…it truly makes me look drabby and matronly 😱. But the colours are just too good and I really wanna wear it! So, here comes a bustier to change it all up while adding a good dose of pizzazz! I jumped for joy when I thrifted this one a few years back. I collect great accessories so I was thrilled with this sequin darling. I do classify bustiers as accessories, as I rarely, if ever wear, them on their own. They are just the right thing to enhance any outfit. Take a look at how I styled up this one and tell me this outfit doesn’t make for great conversation😊
Check out how my Thrifty Six Sistas styling up their Sparkle!
When Jane gave us the theme Sparkle, I immediately thought of my new glitter sweater! Wait….new???? We are The Thrifty Six! Oeps. I almost started to shop for a pre loved sparkly item and then ther light bulb started to glow! Yes, my, new to me, pre loved metallic silver looking skirt! I love this skirt. It’s so stretchy ans easy to wear and yet so cool! Huray for sparkles!
When Jane chose sparkles as the theme this month, I used it as an opportunity to use my limited time 50% off coupon at my local Thrifty Shopper. That is where I found most of this outfit! The sequined chambray jacket might be my favorite thrifted item ever. I love the style, the color, and the fun sparkles! The little black skirt and my graphic tee shirt are both bedazzled with lots of rhinestone sparkles as well. The jacket and tee shirt were both marked $4.99 and the skirt was marked $5.99. With my coupon, I paid $8 for all three pieces! My beaded bag was also a thrift shop find from Salvation Army and I paid $3 for it. Since we were going sparkly, I had to wear sparkle footwear as well. These gray shimmery booties are from Torrid a few years ago. And my Happiness Boutique Necklace and Earrings were the perfect accessories to showcase an outfit that’s all about the sparkle!
When I found out the theme for this month’s Thrifty Six collab was sparkle I knew I had to wear this dress. It is the perfect antidote to the long, dark evenings and depressing news we’re bombarded with daily. When I bought it on eBay I had absolutely no idea when or where I would get to wear it, but I’m not always a practical shopper. Sometimes it’s good to let the heart rule the head!
“I instantly knew I wanted to style this sparkly rust-colored sweater for this month’s collab! Unfortunately, it was raining and very cold on photoshoot day, so I had to adjust my outfit to add a lil’ extra warmth. You can’t really tell in these pics, but I swear the sweater is sparkly! It has the prettiest gold threads throughout—a perfect outfit for Thanksgiving.”
We will be back next month with another pre loved theme!
Another full week of family, styling and fashion in this realm of the woods. We were blessed her in Montreal with summer-like weather and I am so grateful for that! The longer winter stays away, the happier I am!
I kicked off the week in this gorgeous Eva Varro outfit. I adore the eclectic mix of colours in the jacket. Together with the electric blue joggers, this outfit was an automatic cool chic. And- nothing is better than being dressed up and feeling amazing and comfy at the same time. The fabric is everything. From great fit that brings out your best while camouflaging the rest! I love this outfit from the Eva Varro collection! Take a look:
Then, on Wednesday I had fun styling up with a group of amazing ladies up on Insta for our every second week # wearitonwednesday challenge. And this week it was all about vests! Here is a look at my vest:
I love leatherette and pairing this vest with black leggings (also pleather in the front) was a simple but fun match. Giving me all the biker girl vibes! Rocking this mood all Wednesday long!
And now for my FAVOURITE FASHION DIVA from the Linkup Party is… Cheryl of Cheryl Shops ! I love red with animal print and she styled this up so beautifully. In her post she also shows her other gorgeous outfit ideas.
My FAVOURITE READ from the Linkup Party was by: Jill of Doused in Pink for her Holiday Gift Guide for Her. So many new ideas to pick from. I love lists of suggestions- don’t you?

That’s right- start counting down the days to Christmas! Is it even possible? I’m just getting over the fact that summer is gone (go ahead and laugh!). And what about the time change without even having to set back your clocks? All done for us. If I hadn’t read it somewhere, the day would have gone by without me even knowing! Not to mention lockdowns… Is this what’s happening? And -lastly- the world is all eyes on the American election. Boy do I need a distratction!
Enough with the gloom and doom- it is Friday after all! And I did have a fabulous week of styling up for Gail’s challenge. And I thought I’d style up Bermuda shorts! Because that too is super weird this hot weather we’re getting up here in Canada!
Fun!
As well- I’m right back into my DiY’s. Got bored with my scarf wall so thought up a way to minimize space and voila!
Hahaha!! Looks like a costume!!!! But such a great space saver!!!
How darling does she look!! I am crazy about this casual chic look! There’s something about light flowy dresses (especially in animal print!!) paired with cowboy boots that just makes my fashion heart throb like crazy!!
I could use a little Ouzo on the rocks just about now- with a side dish of calamar…

Remember that jingle?! Honestly it’s been awhile since I’ve worn mine. Dresses, pants, jumpsuits, shorts, tunics…all these take precedence over skirts in my styling. I just noticed that this past week.
How stylish is she!! I love all the combinations she styled up- she looks amazing!
Not only are skirts versatile with their multiple personalities, but most of them Never go out of style. Don’t believe me? Pick any from your own closet and pair it with a trendy top or jacket and voila- it works!
Here’s what I styled up these past 7 days:
DAY 1 (you’ve seen this one as a preview!)
Remember this beautiful Eva Varro one?!
DAY 2 (And this too was a sneak peak!)
Oh Delicious Cranberry or Burgundy- Whatever!
DAY 3

DAY 6
HAHA and this one which everyone thought it looked Red on Instagram!! (I’m terrible at editing!!) I loved wearing this very old chiffon summer skirt! Paired with this Joseph Ribkoff jacket (that I completely forgot I had)- made the fall transition so perfect! I’m in love with this skirt again. See what I said about skirts never going out of style?!!
DAY 7 (Last Day…oh nooooo!)
This groovy skirt is gonna have a few more dates lined up and I will make sure of that! How cute is it with this adorable faux fur little bag!! Loving that the cowboy boots dress it down to such a comfy look for the season. How do you like it?

Is it me or did this week also just fly by? It could also be that I’ve had 3 Scorpio birthdays this week…one day after the other- YIKES!! We’ll be cutting cake this weekend. Meanwhile, I’ve been styling up a storm with some great challenges I’ve been part of.
Here’s what I wore for the #wearitwednesday challenge I’m part of; Burgundy or Cranberry was the theme. I still can’t tell those two colours apart. Can you?
I’m part of the Wear it Wednesday Group (every other Wednesday) with these lovely ladies:
I’ve also styled an adorable leatherette Eva Varro skirt this week. I wore it as part of Gail, of Is This Mutton‘ s #7DaySkirtChallenge. (Will be posting a full review of the skirts I wore all week, and do a Linkup with Gail next Tuesday on this!!) But here’s a teaser to what you’ll be seeing in next week’s post…The week kicks off with this adorable Eva Varro skirt:
This skirt is soft, comfy and goes with everything- I’m totally in love!!
And so thankful to have been featured by Oh My Heartsie Girl and by Gail ofIs This Mutton, and also by Michelle of My Bijou Life Online– for my hodgepodge print mixing outfit! I love mixing prints- and it makes me so happy when others appreciate my styling (not everyone does- I’ll leave it at that!) It’s just that this kind of styling just makes me so happy- don’t know what it is!
I’ve actually never been to one and am dying to!! Sounds like so much fun- and you should see the prep behind it all! This is a fancy fun and glam event. I loved this post!
