Vintage Shopping in Paris

When shopping in Paris, get ready for vintage to keep crossing your path. It will be impossible to avoid- even if it’s just for curiosity’s sake. Vintage shopping in Paris is abundant…especially if you’re in the right place: Le Marais district.

Truth be told, we did a lot of walking until we hit the right spots. We stopped often for directions, and found some of the most helpful young people; they even guided us right upto the coolest places of all. The Hippie Market, was one of my favourites!

Vintage shopping in Paris is epic. Throughout the Marais district there are tons of little jewels along the way. I entered a place totally arrested in time; the 30’s! Everything in there was from that era. Mesmerizing!

I bought a large silk fabric rose brooch from here. I just couldn’t leave it behind. The lady who owned the place told me it belonged to a cabaret singer in the 1930′- I’m so mad I can’t remember the name. But she was well-known in Paris. I love these kind of stories, don’t you?

Honestly, it also gives me such a Carrie Bradshaw vibe- remember those flowers she wore?

I also noticed that most of the big name department stores also carried vintage and pre-loved. Au Bon Marche has a whole section – together with the high brands- dedicated to vintage.

I saw so many jaw-dropping pieces on this one whole day of Paris vintage shopping. Some garments were iconic. Take a look:

I got my fill- and hope to go back! This Paris Fashion Project has opened a whole new realm of material for me to write about and teach. If you’ve missed parts of my series, just click the following links:
