I love any, and all colours- anytime of the year- that’s a fact. But there’s just something about the days getting longer and sunnier that makes bright colours all the more appealing- bringing me hope! My favourite Spring colour is most definitely light green and all its beautiful hues, including lime. I love nothing more than styling it up with my next favourites: purple and lilac.
Today I’m styling up my favourite jeans with this divine lime, stitch-knit jacket. As a top, I’m wearing a foulard that I’ve tucked neatly into my jeans- and another foulard as a belt. All of these (except for the jeans) include my three favourite mix of colours: Greens, lilacs and purples.
What is your favourite Spring colour and colour mix- I always want to know!
Now,let’s get on with Fabulous Friday’s and my FAVOURITE FASHION DIVA from last week’s Linkup: GRACE OF GRACEFUL RAGS

Yes, me again talking about Dopamine Styling!! It’s just that I’ve had my share of a fun-filled styling week that made the time fly! Am I ready for the weekend? Why yes I am! Today I’m styling up the cutest tights by Malka Chic. This company is so fantastic because they actually make tights that fit all sizes- and- accommodate in their unique styling too. Never seen anything like these. I think my colourful tights look awesome styled up with some mixed print and faux-fur (and leather shorts of course!). This look is giving me all the dopamine I need for the weekend to begin.

It’s no lie that for me, styling and upcycling have everything to do with fashion and the love of clothing. I’ve never seen an outfit that I didn’t think twice about re-styling, re-wearing , re-vamping or…upcycling! Case in point with this adorable blouse (that I’m basically over with as is)– So…Time for a DIY!
Basically, just start off by cutting the sleeves, by rendering the top into a short sleeve top. You’ll be using these sleeves later as a cute detachable accessory for any other top you’d like to zsuzs up!
Then turn in those sleeves and sew them up to make pockets! Basicall the skirt is done…except that I decided to add two faux fur pieces I had on hand. They’re black- so I thought how cute would it be to just add them over the pocket slits! Gives it a cool western look I find. Just another conversation piece lol! And Voila!!
And here are those sleeves!!Once they were cut, all I had to do was give them a quick hem- that’s it! Basically, the elastic was already part of these- and- that’s all you really need to hold the sleeves up. Bam!
Here is the video clip for more details. You can see my whole process! And that includes glimpses of my new (vintage) sewing machine lol!!
I love doing this type of stuff and am actually considering giving workshops on upcycling wardrobes and creating new pieces with what’s left over, at my college when this pandemic thing finally let’s up.
Should I??
Anywayssss, this was SUPER EASY to do!! If you decide to give it a try, let me know!!

Do you wear what trends dictate? Do you wear only what you think is appropriate for your age- occupation- status (fill in the blanks)?
Sometimes all that is actually necessary…but it doesn’t mean that even so, you can’t enjoy it! When you love how you look (no matter the circumstance), you naturally start to feel and behave in a more positive way. And, if that brings you joy, then it becomes an all-around feel good thing.
So this being the ‘Love and Feel-Good Month’, lemme ask you: Does what you wear make you feel good? It should. And I’ll go as far as saying, if it doesn’t, then make it happen! This is essential for both, how you feel and emanate, as well as, how others perceive your energy. (Read Part 1 HERE)
If you’re not a paid model, who’s just showcasing whatever is pinned on you, then there’s no reason for you to not make the right ‘fun and happy’ choices when it comes to your styling. Keep this in mind when shopping!
Too often we dress for the part, regardless of how it makes us feel, without questioning if any of it brings us any joy. That will show in our appearance. Wearing something ‘just because…wtv reason’ doesn’t work in the long run. It’s not conducive to achieving and growing into your own style- something that really feels like you wanna feel is you.
I’ve been working for awhile now on incorporating looks, colors, fabrics, cuts and styles- into my wardrobe; making ‘happy- feel good’, my primary objective. It might sound very basic and logical, but it’s not always as clear cut as that! You have to give it a try and see what I mean.
Pick out one item from your wardrobe that you absolutely love, and ask yourself what it is that makes you smile and wanna wear it? Then, hang onto that feeling and see if you get that with another of your pieces. Keep going with that exercise, and you’ll soon find out there’s a pattern. It could be the color, the style, or maybe the compliments you got…
Because I’m fascinated with this topic – which I will be exploring in more depth- I’ve come up with a fitting Hashtag: #dopaminestyling. I will be adding it to all my blog posts. This also means that I will be making a conscious effort to ONLY style up that which brings me joy!
Let’s START THIS CHALLENGE!!!
To start off what will be an on-going-challenge- I would like it if this week you would pull out pieces of your wardrobe that bring out that dopamine feeling! Then, Please join me in including #dopaminestylingwithin your Instagram post and Tag Me@lucybertoldi. I will then add you to my INsta stories. As well, I’ll showcase you all in a follow up blog post! I can then turn this into a series!
This is a vintage Muff-handbag from the 40’s! it’s truly divine
Here’s a clip about me talking about Dopamine Styling and why I wanna do this!
So here’s to #Dopaminestyling my Lovies! Flaunting red and wild print, mixed with some vintage fur and some cool shades…just because ‘Dressing should feel Good’!
I made those fur cuffs!!
#Confessionoftheday: My easiest go-to-dopamine booster is red- and if you just can’t get away from black or white; mix in some red for some instantaneous bold, beautiful and powerful energy. But more important, it’s especially magnetically cheerful!!

Say that 3 times fast! The love month is here and that gives us plenty of reasons to brighten up our style! So many things did happen in January, that honestly, even if we’re in a lockdown- I just never had a moment of rest. In some ways, I guess you can say that’s a good thing!
My #Fauxshow challenge is over and it was a huge success- participation was amazing!! I’m actually thinking of doing it again next January. Here are some of my own photos of me taking part:
And then…Here comes February! Started off with by upcycling a jumpsuit into 3 fun, fashionable pieces! Here they are:

Third Monday of the month and here we are with our Thrifty Six Styling Fun!
You know you’ve scored big when you find a mint-condition- never been worn- Danier leather jumper this adorable! Found it at my local charity store and paid 9$ for it. WHAAAT? Yep- tags and all! The leather is as soft as butter and it most probably goes with any, and every top I own. Like we’ve said before- style is everything, but so is quality! Paired it with another little thrifted gem- I’m crazy about lime green (another animal print!). This top is sheer and also a huge trend for this year. Wondering if I’ll be getting a lot of wear from this little black dress? Let me tell you that I wear this one already too often- and almost all year round! Oh the styling possibilities!
And now let’s see what my gorgeous Thrifty Six Sistas styled up!
“I originally envisioned an edgy outfit for this theme, but given my limited supply of thrifted leather goods, I had to take a very different, old fashioned approach. This green leather purse belonged to my grandma and was a gift for my 16th birthday, including matching shoes and gloves. The heels are much too high for my walking abilities, but the purse was the perfect addition to this gorgeous dress—and I love that it matches the railings! My sparkly bracelet is also thrifted through an antique shop on Etsy.”
“I stopped buying leather after going vegan three years ago and now only buy faux leather. I try to ensure my purchases are sustainable, as faux leather can be bad for the environment. There are some amazing brands that use recycled materials and no animal derivatives at all in their products. This Matt and Nat bag, which I bought on eBay, is certified vegan, and the lining is made out of recycled plastic bottles! My ankle boots are also preloved – I bought them from a charity shop just before Christmas but I don’t think they’d been worn.”
I found this brown leather jacket at Salvation Army a few years ago and it was too snug in the shoulders for a long time. After losing some weight, it now fits and I do love the edginess of it with its broken-in look. My faux leather cow print tote bag is a more recent thrifty find and this is the first time I have styled it. I kept the rest of my outfit simple with skinny jeans, a black turtleneck, and a really old pair of tall brown leather boots.
Only after I bought this antique blue super soft leather blazer I realised that I had to take it to the dry cleaners to wash before I wanted to wear it. And somehow I never wore it after it returned. Only to show this outfit years ago. Thrifted leather and shoes are not my thing, although this is such a gorgeous blazer! I really should get over it!
This was so fun! Hope you’ll join us again on every third Monday of each month for more Thrifted Styling Goodness!

Can’t believe Christmas is almost here! It’s been quite the year- but fortunately we’ve found all kinds of ways to cope, distract and dare I say…thrive! We are so resilient, aren’t we Darlings? And it’s time for the Thrifty Six!
Welcome to The Thrifty Six. We are a group of international fashion influencers who meet once a month in our little space on the internet to share our thrifty outfits. Shopping and reselling preloved clothing is so much better for the environment and you can find some of the best fashions in thrift or charity shops. And here we are with such an appropriate theme for Christmas: Red!
I had such a blast putting together this gorgeous thrifted ensemble. There’s nothing I love more than an easy right off the rack outfit that says: Ready to Go! I paired it with my all time favourite sequin vest…and then opted for the two- different-coloured booties! A true mish-mash that speaks originality- just like I love!
So, to be honest here, the booties were not thrifted. I just own 2 pairs of booties in 2 different colours! I thought if I don’t mix them up now- when? Perfect opportunity! As well, don’t think the outfit looked exactly like this when I got it a few seasons back at my local charity store. Nope! The hems were slit and had strings to tie up in a bow and the leg parts were lined all the way to the bottom. As well, the sleeves were also slit all the way down. I cut and sewed and in no time, this is what I got. Loving it now!
Goes to prove how versatile it is to buy second hand. You can find, for very little cost to you, something that has huge potential to tailor it to your own liking. I love doing that. And if something goes wrong along the way…oh well! This one could not have cost me more than a latte at Starbucks! And at least I gave it a chance. I saved it from the landfill!!
And now, please check out what my beautiful Thrifty Six Diva Sistas are Styling today!
“I came across this gorgeous red military style jacket on eBay recently. I was the only bidder so I managed to snag it for the starting price of £5! The quality is fantastic, much better than I’d anticipated. I teamed it with a zebra print mini skirt and long black boots to make the red really stand out.”
“It was my turn to pick the theme this month, and I immediately knew I wanted to feature this red thrifted BCBG dress that I purchased for only $1! As I started adding accessories, I realized this old fashioned purse (which was more expensive than the dress – $6!) and this gorgeous sparkly necklace were both thrifted as well. While not the most practical holiday outfit for 2020, it’s always fun and uplifting to play a little dress up.”
“I’m Little Red Riding Hood…lost in the forest on my way to grandmother’s house…only kidding – it’s me, Jane! Red’s the theme for the Thrifty Six December style focus and I’m taking it to the max! This is an authentic Scandinavian, pure wool maxi skirt, I’ve teamed it with a chunky pillarbox red sweater and a quirky vermilion beret. The accent colour is tan, a great contrast to the red and it picks up the orangey stitch detail in the skirt. Dressed head to toe in red I feel totally empowered! – I don’t often wear this colour but now I’m tempted to become a ‘Scarlet Woman’!!!”
“Nothing I am wearing here is pre loved. When this photo was taken, about 5 years ago, I wasn’t into pre loved. But……Castor was pre loved!! We bought him, that sounds weird, we were so lucky to call him ours, also weird but alla, from a breeder. Who, of course otherwise we wouldn’t have ended up at her place, loved her cats to pieces. So this is my pre loved ‘item’! Castor! Yeah right, but he is not red, I hear you say. No indeed, I am a bit cheating this month. But he does wear a red Santa jacket which I got from a friend years ago. So a pre loved cat with a hand me down jacket!”
“I recently found this red tartan blazer at my local Thrifty Shopper and it was so perfect for the holiday season that I just couldn’t resist it. Although I had absolutely no reason for purchasing it other than I thought it was so cute…until Grace called Red for this month’s theme! My Harley Davidson tank top, my jeans, and a few of my pearl strands were also preloved items purchased a few years ago. Everything else was shopped from my closet. This combination was inspired by a Gwen Stefani outfit that she was wearing recently on The Voice!”
The Thrifters:
We will be back in 2021 with another pre loved theme!

I am so very ready for the weekend. The beginning of the week started out with me needing so much sleep time and rest! I don’t know why I’ve been feeling so drained these days. But there’s nothing like a cute little styling up won’t help cure. Here I am with this colorful little dress and booties bright. Styling up a cute outfit helps improve your mood- and that’s a fact (remember my Dopamine Dressing post?). Much needed this week was color, patterns and more color (even when styling black).
And then Wednesday came along. Don’t you love Wednesdays? So here is a bit of sparkle- which you know I adore. Remember how I told you I refuse to call anything loungewear anymore? Well, here’s my fancy laid back- at home- look; shimmer, sparkle and all! Perfect diversion to reality: Did you know Montreal had an emergency code alert buzzing through all our phones and Tv’s? Yes- you heard that right. An Alert to remind us of the accrued policing and fines for anyone daring to get together for Christmas. And, that my friends, warranted a threat alert…Ok…So this is where we’re at. Moving along! This picker-upper could not have come at a better time!
I wore this for # Wearitwednesday You can check out my Insta here with all the details, and the other fabulous ladies with whom I join every other Wednesday:)
Even though I’m doing my Holiday contract work for Chanel ( Thursday to Saturday), I still get that weekend vibe. I have to admit that going in goggled up and masked isn’t the easiest thing…but I’m getting used to it. But after taking this Before and After Shift pics…wow- I look drained (must be the lack of oxygen behind that mask lollll! What do you think??
Left: Just about to start my shift. Right: Just about to close. From fresh to drained!
So now- I’m obviously ready for the Partyyyy! It’s time for FABULOUS FRIDAY’S LINKUP!!

Are we ready for celebrating?? Note to Covid: We’ve learned to adapt and no matter all the darn rules- Nothing’s bringing this lady down the scaredy lonely hole! Decorating is done- shopping is happening- and baking’s on the agenda!
Making my Christmas Eve dinner list and checking it twice. Except….Our Premier announced that Christmas is off. You can only celebrate with those living under your own roof- must have same address. He’s gonna have that policed. In fact, he’s encouraging people to report on those who break the law. Yes. Imagine that it’s come to that. Feeling a lot like dictatorship…
But this still won’t get me down because I have had a worst Christmas before this one. In fact, last Christmas Eve was the saddest it could ever be…I lost my Dad on Christmas Eve morning of 2019. He lived with us. So Covid’s got nothing on me- in fact I’m thankful my dad didn’t have to live a moment in this awfulness. And- I will be dining with my family and will be toasting with a glass of red wine from my Dad’s bottle of home made wine that he was saving for us all to drink together last Christmas, and obviously that never happened. I figured we’d enjoy it as a family this year and reminisce, not the sadness, but all the goodness he brought to this world.
Missing you, Papa, more than you’ll ever know…Here’s praying that you’ll be celebrating Christmas with the best reservations in heaven together with Mamma- Salute xx
Still, I’m looking forward to Christmas, and preparing for the New Year to come. It wasn’t all bad, I did get one more grandson! We’ve all adapted to the pandemic- even if life has changed in so many ways- we still have much to be thankful for. God has a plan- and that’s always a good thing:)
This week I also started my Fragrance contract work (which I do every year for Christmas time and other special holidays. So I’m enjoying a bit of glitz and glamour and a lot of dressing up in black. It’s very chic I know, but I adore color and prints! Will have to make up for those on my days off. Meanwhile…Here’s to some fun print mixing blouse and vest styled up with some leatherette leggings in aubergine- I love! Dressing up at home- my way!
The little blue velvet booties aren’t bad either. What do you think?
Okay moving right along to My FAVOURITE FASHION DIVA from the Linkup Party: Gail from Is This Mutton!!! Vest or Gilet…Read her post on this to find out!
Have I ever told you that I am a Vest fanatic??? I am absolutely nuts about this pink gorgeous one!!!
