Born in the 60’s and lived it up in the 70’s…that’s gotta be the reason why I’m so fashion nostalgic of those fabulous unequivocal decades. Being in the fashion world for a living, I should know better than to wanna live in the past…since fashion is ALL about change and moving forward. And yet, name me one designer that has not taken inspiration from history! Seriously, can you name one?
I’ll stick to that note and offer myself loads of pleasure by indulging into vintage- it’s the best I can do to tame my nostalgia. When I see any garment with a ‘groovy’ colour burst-print or pattern, I get so happy! I’ve personally been collecting vintage for awhile- but this past month or so I’m sort of binging and I need to refrain! In a few weeks I’ll be posting some great finds- stay tuned!!
Meanwhile, here’s this absolutely fabulous body-clinging maxi that I’ve paired with this animal print second-skin gem (that you’ve seen so many times before). I just can’t get enough of this magical print mix! What do you think?
Another thing I’m into these days: vintage muumuus! The weather was horribly humid at the beginning of the week- so this one was perfect. The colours aren’t my summer favourites…but sometimes you just need to change it up with great neutrals.
Speaking of collecting…do you enjoy neck parties? I mean layering your necklaces- the more the merrier? I find this fun from time to time- it’s a good way to wear all those pieces I’ve almost forgotten and left to ‘hang’ lol! Here’s to a whole neck-mess full of colliers!
And, this Wednesday, we went out to a resto for the first time in 8 months! Granted it was just pizza out on a terrace- but still! It was fun, and I enjoyed the ride to ‘finally going somewhere’…but believe it or not I couldn’t wait to get back home. Have I become a homebody now? I dunno, I guess this confinement has me thinking I wasn’t missing that much when it comes to pizza! I’ll have to try going out to a real dining place- somewhere where they don’t cook anything that I’ve been cooking up myself for months!

All in all, it’s been a fun week!

BISOUS!
This print dress with the other print sleeves is stunning. Great styling. I also love the dress with the print hem. So chic and unexpected. You have a really great, well curated wardrobe.
Thank you so much! This is such a compliment coming from you who is always so stylish!
Gah, you are so fun, my friend! I am loving all of this from that funky vintage dress to your muumuu to your piles of gold necklaces! So freaking fun! I just ate in a restaurant last weekend for the first time in 16 months! It was cool and a little bit weird. Thanks so much for the feature this week, by the way! It always makes my day.

Oh Shelbee you’re so sweet- and you make my day too!
Hi Lucy!
I thought the sleeves on the dress were part of the dress! The mix of fun, funky pattern and colors works so well.
I also love the scarf as my grandma would say, Babushka ! Elegant on you!
I know I was excited to get out and go out somewhere. We kinda went overboard the first week of going out and I think we ate out 3 times that week…
Have a great weekend!

Thanks so much Jess! And Babushka sounds right to me lol!! I gotta practice feeling comfortable eating out again…Have a great week! xx
Ok, this is the first time that I’ve ever thought, “I want a muumu!”. But I love how you styled it and your vintage vibe is fun and engaging. What a party we could have in that closet of yours!
That would be so fun- and in yours too Chrissy! Thanks xx
To be honest, prior to reading your post, I thought that was a long-sleeved dress. Imagine my surprise, lol! I love how you styled it – you rock in it!
I know- you’re not the only one! A few people told me this too! It’s an unexpected delight lol! Thanks!
OMG Lucy! I love this wild vintage dress! So pretty! So fun! I also want to make a quilt in these colors.

Omg Michelle- a quilt would be so fabulous!!! Thanks! xx
I totally agree about fashion repeating itself. The phrase, What goes around, comes around, is certainly true in fashion. And thank goodness! The 70s had such a cool vibe and I love your take on this era, Lucy! Gold chains, paisley, bold prints, the list goes on…
xx Darelne
Thanks so much Darlene- fashion really is just continuously renewing itself through the past into the future! I love the 70’s! xx
Oh I love a good neck mess! And the Roman Holiday neck scarf – so chic! x
Thank you Gail- a little drama is always a good thing lol! Have a great week xx
Thanks so much for the link-party, Lucy! I’ve entered two of my recent posts – I think you will like the yellow and pink outfit, as it’s much the same colours as your fabulous vintage pattern mix in your first look here!
I adore vintage, as I think you may know – I’m also guilty of hanging onto so many vintage pieces…I try to limit myself, but then I just find more!
I find it funny how cyclical fashion is – oh, business shorts are back in style? Let me go thrift an amazing pair for under $20! However, if you’re a savvy secondhand shopper (which I am), you can find those trends – even the big designer names! – at a pittance. I recently found a Carven floral mini for $25 – it is only 4 years old and retailed for over $500!
I’ve been doing what I call the Movie Star Wrap with my scarves just like that! We have a convertible so I have to wrap my hair or it’ll be snarled at the end of the drive.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Oh I love all of this! Sheila I’m so into that movie star wrap too- loving it! And you are undoubtedly a vintage queen- hands down my uber stylish friend xx
You are styling these vintage pieces so well. That first dress is a beauty! So many colors and I love the different patterns on the sleeves versus the dress.

Thanks Laura- Ioving it and having so much fun! xx
Lucy,
I’m another one who was born in the 60’s and lived it up in the 70’s so I’m also fond of fashions from that period. Your looks from this past week are all great and how wonderful that you’ve finally been able to dine out again.
Rena

Thanks Rena! I can so picture us being friends back then! Don’t you think our love for thrift and original pieces honestly stems from our having been THERE in those fabulous decades? As for te restos…I’m slowly getting out there! xx
I just love your colorful maxi dress with the leopard sleeves! And, your layered necklaces are gorgeous! Have a fabulous weekend!
Jill – Doused in Pink
Thanks!! It’s a top under that dress lol! I guess it blends super well as it seems to have tricked so many- and I love that! Have a great week xx
What a fab jumpsuit! Love it with the scarf! And your dress is gorgeous too, what a prints!
Thank you Nancy! Loving that easy jumpsuit too! xx
Such fabulous print mixing! That’s so my cup of tea! I’ve been out for a meal once and it was lovely, although I’ve definitely got comfortable staying at home. Having nice weather makes a difference because I’ve been sunbathing in the garden creating all the holiday vibes! Thanks for linking up!

That first dress is amazing on you and I really like the pink one too – both great options for you!
And of course I love the statement necklace layering – I really need to try that more often with the pieces I have!
Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup 🙂 Hope you’re having a nice weekend, it’s another cold wintery one here.
