Labour Day weekend was the last day of sunshine in this part of town- fortunately I had the time for a fun dress-up to head out on the boat! How quirky do I look?! I’ve officially turned into my flamboyant Venetian Great Aunt lol!!! And then…that was the last of the sun…Had to change quickly into sweats and warm sweater…brought a blanket too…there went the sun- but even that could not get the joy out of me!!

I did keep myself busy with the new course planning for my teaching: classes began this week for me! Busy, busy- but never too busy for a DIY! Loved transforming 2 outfits this week. Check it out!

See the Video clip here!!
This week, my youngest turned 19- and with Covid and everyone’s busy schedules…this sweet and short celebration had to be planned on the go. We still enjoyed ourselves- family is everything!

Hi Lucy! glad you could celebrate and also celebrate the day. I am so impressed with ladies who can sew, like yourself, what a great outfit transformation Love your outfit for the day, such a cute hat and pretty skirt.
Have a great weekend.

Thanks Jessica!! I’m actually not the best sewer – I’m self taught (well actually a bit here and there from my mom and aunts!) Have a great weekend too!! xx
Such a great post, Lucy! I love that you have channeled your great aunt on your boating excursion! I think my nephews already view me as the quirky flamboyant aunt! Haha. You had lots of wonderful features on other blogs this week! Doesn’t it just make your day when that happens? I hope you have a fabulous weekend, my friend!

Thank you!
Lucy, your DIY makeovers are fabulous! (I still need to watch the video.) And the “flamboyant Venetian Great Aunt” comment tickled me. It’s a fun outfit! And I now realize my wording was confusing. I’m actually a Capricorn. My apologies! Belated Happy Birthday to your daughter! The picture of the 3 of you is beautiful.

Oh!! I really thought you were a Virgo! Well, can’t wait to get to the Capricorn part lol! It will be good! And yes, my great-aunt was super eccentric (so I may have a gotten some of her quirks in styling for sure!! Thanks for the good wishes! Have a wonderful weekend xx
Thank you so much for the feature, Lucy! And congratulations to you too! I do love your outfits. You look fabulous! Have a lovely weekend. xx
Thank you!!
Lucy, you are so darn clever and creative!! Two dresses from one skirt!! Wow! Very cute. Best wishes for your teaching–this coming from a former educator who still consults with schools and districts! Have a nice weekend.
xx Darlene
Oh you’re the best! Thanks so much!
That skirt is so much cuter as a dress! You really think outside the box and I just love it!
Thanks so much Laura!
You are so creative! I can sew a little, but… I try to avoid it! Ha! Have a great weekend… I wish this weekend was 3 days again! lol.

Too funny! Thank you so much!
That little brown dress is so cute, what a clever idea to reinvent a skirt as a dress! Happy birthday to your daughter too! 🙂
Hope you are having a good weekend 🙂
Thanks ever so much!
You are so talented! I always wanted to learn how to sew! So amazing you turned that skirt into a dress! It’s so cute!

Lucy thank you SO much for featuring my look, so glad you loved it! Though we’d had an Indian summer this week, it was back to the summer tops the past few days…!!

P.S. Your way of wearing a skirt as a dress is ingenious 😀
Thanks so much! And I love your styling always!
