As a stylist and fashion teacher I use Spring- Summer trends, (or Fall-winter trends) mostly as a guideline to keep stylish and current. In practice, trends are there to whet your appetite- to change or freshen things up a bit. Now, depending on where you look, the information on trends can be inundating and super overwhelming! And so, that’s why I make my life, and that of my students, super easy: Twice a year I get the Vogue Collections magazine.
The twice-a-year Collections edition is filled with runway looks, designer inspirations, accessories for every brand-and more- without any ads! It can be a little pricey at 42$ a pop- but hey- it’s all you need twice a year! And, the best part of this Vogue magazine is that it opens up in the first few pages, listing all that’s trending for the season.
As a result, let me show you some trending styles I love (followed by those I’ve omitted because I don’t!). Here they are, straight from Vogue:
Spring- Summer Trends 2024

There were other trends such as : Draping, Stripes, Polka dots, pencil skirts…But they weren’t my favourites to list!
The fun thing about these spring- summer trends is that they can inspire you to create something new from what you may already own- just styled in a different way. Trends are meant to be adapted! And the first place to look is in your closet. Give these Spring- summer trends your own interpretation and see your style morph into something fresh and current. Seriously, all it takes is for you to combine maybe one of the items that is trending (and that you’ve owned for years)- style it your way and boom- you’re on trend! Give it a try!

All in all I loved most of the trends- but there were also some that I could absolutely LIVE WITHOUT! Not for me.
- Low rise pants
- Bodysuits (worn as is)
- Underwear (no, I’m serious)
And just in case you have absolutely nothing in that closet (although I doubt it!), here are some picks to draw some inspiration from the spring summer trends collections. They’re not exact, but similar enough to keep you current!
