How to Style the Mesh Trend

The mesh trend is one that’s here to stay- and with its endless styling possibilities, well it’s no wonder! Mesh has a way of elevating even the simplest of looks. Personally I’ve been rocking the sheer look for quite some time and it’s helped me become more creative with my styling- especially when it comes to layering.

5 Ways to Style the Mesh Trend

1- Wear a sheer top under a t-shirt for light comfort and a more finished look. This is great for wearing tees in colder weather. I’ve layered mine over a black lace mesh top.

2- Wear it over any outfit to add texture and interest.

3- Wear mesh under halter tops, dresses or blazers to add dimension and chic to your outfit. This is a great option for times when you need more coverage.

4- And then there’s the simplest and most daring way of all- just wear your sheer top over a pretty bralette!

But mesh doesn’t only come in black! Check out these gorgeous tops.

Here’s one of my faves:

I’ve worn this top in a gazillion ways upto now- and won’t give it up!

5- You must style the mesh trend in dresses too! This is my most favourite way to style up sheer. It’s easy and can look oh so glamorous, especially worn with kitten heels. And when I want to dress down my mesh dresses, I just wear my combat or cowboy boots- oh and sneakers are good for this too. I love the Versace vibe of this dress.

With all these possibilities for dressing up or down, one thing is for sure, sheer is here to stay. The see-through look is no longer just for the runway – it’s here for us all. In my opinion, it should be a staple in your closet… you need it in your life!

  1. Huge fan of the mesh shirt look, Lucy, and you are killin’ it here! That Versace-wannabe dress is amazing! I have about 10 different mesh long-sleeved tees, and a couple of other pieces (a long-sleeved top, a cardigan) that I love. Most of mine are vintage 90s, picked up cheeeeep in the thrifts, including a couple of Jean Paul Gaultier!
